Reebok is ending its relationship with Crossfit. [The fitness companyâs CEO Greg Glassman replied]( âFLOYD-19â to a tweet that called racism a public health issueâ[which it is, by the way]( then said his comment was ânot racist.â The Boston-based apparel firmâs 10-year deal with Crossfit expires this year, and now wonât be renewed.
Minneapolisâ city council wants to âdismantleâ its police department. The council president, Lisa Bender, said that she and eight of the other 11 members are making a commitment â[to end policing as we know it]( but the cityâs [mayor Jacob Frey does not support]( the idea. Meanwhile, New York city mayor Bill de Blasio said [heâd reduce funding for the NYPD](.
The New York Timesâ opinion page editor resigned. James Bennet was under pressure following the publication of a piece by a Republican senator that called for military action against protesters. âBoth of us concluded that James would not be able to lead the team through the next leg of change that is required,â [said Times chairman Arthur Sulzberger](.
Protesters in Europe targeted statues. In Belgium, they [went for King Leopold II]( because of his brutal colonial policies in Africa, while in the UK, they pulled slave trader Edward Colston down off his pedestal and [threw him into the harbor](.

Monday: New York City [begins to reopen](. The Federal Reserve of New York releases its monthly survey of consumer expectations.
Tuesday: George Floyd is [laid to rest](. Morgan Stanley hosts a virtual financial services conference. The US bureau of labor statistics releases Aprilâs job openings and labor turnover survey (JOLTS).
Wednesday: The US Fed concludes a [two-day meeting of its open markets committee]( with a news conference by chair Jerome Powell. The US releases consumer price index numbers, and Brazil announces inflation data.
Thursday: [NetEase lists]( on the Hong Kong stock exchange. Spainâs [top soccer league resumes](. Toyota holds a [virtual shareholders meeting](.
Friday: US import price data is released. California [resumes]( film, TV, and music production.
Charting online commerce
Amazon isnât the only e-commerce company thatâs thriving. Its shares have climbed more than 30% this year but some online retailers are faring even better.
E-commerce companies outperforming Amazon.
Shares of Wayfair, the online furniture and home goods seller, have doubled in price in 2020. Etsy, a platform that specializes in handmade products,[said its marketplace grew 100%]( in April, and its stock has gained more than 90%. âOne big driver of the strong growth in April was fabric face masks,â Etsy CEO Joshua Silverman said in an earnings call on June 2.
Chewy, an online company for pet products, has jumped about 75% this year, while US shares for Chinese e-commerce giant JD.com have rallied about 60%.
