Dear Friend, Here’s a bonus edition of the Trade of the Week. Program Update: Finalizing the new program while we wait for final approval. Open Positions SummaryBIDU On 12/3/2021, Bidu had a pop lower. We closed our original spread and moved the strikes down a little, widened it and went out in time a bit more. We took a loss on the original spread of 2 points and opened the following: Buy 1 BIDU 20Jan23 180 call @11.92 Sell 1 BIDU 17Jun22 200 call @3.37 Debit is 8.55 which is a little more than the original 6.05 risk and that’s because of the widened strikes as well as the longer duration. Currently, BIDU rallied and has brought this position in profit to around what we lost in the original spread. For now, we hold. LCID We killed this trade since she hit our mental stop. So, Lucid is not ready just yet to rally. She is still on the radar and we ‘ll revisit her again. Total loss was .82 or $82. VIX Our VIX trade is looking good so far. We’re sitting around a 10% gain. I see a lot of you got in at better pricing and that’s awesome. Premium has come in a bit but the market is nearing new highs again and the VIX is still somewhat elevated. I think she ends the year strong but we don’t see much more upside here until we see at least a 10% retracement. So, keep an eye on the VIX spread and take your gains near the short strike. Some of you placed strikes a bit higher which is great as well so you’ll be able to take gains a little sooner. Hold. This Week’s Bonus PlayBABA This week are revisiting BABA. She is down considerably this year, around 65% from her highs and levels not seen for about 7 years. We feel her long term out look will bring her back to the 180 level in the coming year. BABA has been good to us in our plays so we like her here. Here’s the play: Buy 1 BABA 16Sept22 180 call @6.95 Sell 1 BABA 15Jul22 180 call @5.15 The debit on the trade is 1.80. Max risk is $180 and we are doing a 2 lot. We are targeting a credit of 3.27 to exit or if BABA hits the 180 strike, we’ll take our gains. We will also look to manage the trade if she has done neither at around April. Below is the chart for her and the shaded area we are eyeing for management:   It’s also worth noting we don’t see much more downside in BABA though we are not exactly bullish. I think she will retrace this move a bit but she has a long road ahead.
