And help millions meet him for the first time! ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  [Pastor Rick's Daily Hope](  {NAME}, Perhaps you remember the story I recently shared from my early days as a young pastor. We had just wrapped up our first year at Saddleback Church when I stood up one day to speak—and I fainted. That was the beginning of a season of depression, when I was burned out physically, emotionally, and spiritually. I felt like I was walking around with a cloud over my head, and I didn’t know how to get out of it. At that time, I wasn’t praying, “Oh God, do something really great in my life.” I was just praying, “God, get me through the weekend.” There are a lot of people these days who are burned out. They are overwhelmed with the day-to-day and they need to find comfort and strength in God’s Word. Today, you have a special opportunity to share it with them . . . because [generous friends of Daily Hope have stepped forward with a $50,000 Matching Grant]( which will DOUBLE your gift by June 30 to share biblical hope with hurting people all over the world. Friend, there’s nothing more important we can do than share the Word of God with others—and it’s your gift today that will enable us to do that. You see, because hope is exactly what I found as I turned to the Bible over and over again during my season of burnout. I began gaining courage, strength, and confidence. I learned, “I can do this. My confidence isn’t in me; my confidence is in Christ!” One of the stories that activated my faith comes from Exodus 23. God is talking to Joshua, who was tasked with leading the entire nation of Israel into battle to fight for the Promised Land. Joshua thinks, “I can’t do this. The dream is too big. I’m inadequate!” So God explains his plans to Joshua and then tells him, “But I won’t do all this in the first year . . . Instead, I will . . . give your nation time to grow strong enough to take over the land” (Exodus 23:29–30 CEV). When I read that as a young man, it was like a promise coming directly to me. I thought, “Okay! I don’t have to accomplish this all in the first year. I’m going to spend the rest of my life serving Jesus Christ, and I’ll do it on his timetable and at his pace—and he can do whatever he wants to with my life.” God’s Word activated my faith and gave me confidence to take on enormous goals. And God’s Word can do the same for you. Maybe you’re struggling in some aspect of your faith. Maybe, like I was, you’re overwhelmed by a big goal God has put in front of you. Or perhaps God seems silent in your life lately and you don’t understand why. Whatever you’re facing, I’d like to encourage you with my [40 Days in the Word Bible study]( to help you experience how God’s Word can activate your faith too. She shares . . . “I was involved in a head-on collision on my way to work in 2020. I could not go to work for three months due to this accident and was then terminated from my job for not going to work. I was completely out of money, food, and my faith was beginning to get very thin. I was contemplating suicide. At the end of August 2021, you started your series called Seeking God for a Breakthrough and I honestly thought you were talking to me. I prayed the prayer of commitment, rededicating my life to Jesus with tears rolling down my face. I had not felt such relief in a long time. I ordered your book Experience God’s Power Through Prayer and am anxiously awaiting it so I can begin again. Thank you!” It’s such a joy to work together in ministry with you—reaching people all over the world like Dawn with the hope that never fades . . . the hope of Jesus Christ.
