It’s called your life mission, and fulfilling it should be your primary goal in life. You weren’t put on Earth to just be a consumer, waste your time, and live an uninspired life. God has something unique for you to do. He doesn’t want you to be a consumer; he wants you to make a contribution. He wants you to make a difference. What is your life mission? The Bible says, “The most important thing is that I complete my mission, the work that the Lord Jesus gave me—to tell people the Good News about God’s grace” (Acts 20:24 NCV). God’s mission for you is “to tell people the Good News about God’s grace.” And the best place to learn how to do that is in your church family. You likely won’t learn how to fulfill your life mission at a business, in a school, or around your neighborhood. But it’s the job of your pastor and church family to help you do what God put you on Earth to do. When you get to heaven, God isn’t going to ask about your church denomination. He’s more likely to ask, “What did you do with what I gave you? Did you use it to serve others? Did you ‘go everywhere in the world, and tell the Good News to everyone’ (Mark 16:15 NCV)?” God has a ministry in the church and a mission in the world for you to fulfill. He wants to use your church family to prepare you to join his global mission. When you belong to a church family, they help you fulfill God’s purpose for your life.
