It's Been a YEAR When I look back, I think of March 11th, 2020 as the official day I realized this pandemic was real—my "coronaversary" if you will. It was the day the WHO declared a global pandemic, the day the NBA suspended its season, the day Tom Hanks announced his positive diagnosis. It was also the first day of what was to become my seemingly endless WFH arrangement. I lugged a desk and a table lamp up from the basement and set up camp in what had been the children's reading room. I relished the opportunity to work while wearing slippers and pick my kids up from school myself, while also worrying that a school closure was all but imminent. (It would shut down the following Monday, as it turned out.) I thought facemasks were just for surgeons. I remember texting a friend that I heard it could be weeks—weeks—until we were through with this. Clearly, I was woefully naive. And clearly, it was a luxury to have made it to March 11th without confronting this virus more directly. But as I look back on this past year—the devastating losses, the awe-inspiring scientific advances, the urgent calls for racial justice and restorative action—I am trying to reflect not just on what was hard, but also on what I've learned and how I've grown. I'd love for you to take a look at [this amazing piece]( by PureWow's own Jenny Jin about how to audit your past year, then head over to our [Instagram page]( to tell us how you mark your coronaversary, and what you've learned about yourself in this time. Wishing you health, happiness and a new-and-improved Netflix lineup. Jillian Quint
