grassroots vs. big money (us vs. our establishment-backed opponent) [Pamela Pugh for Congress]( {NAME} – we’ve all seen it in 2024. Special interest groups, whether it’s AIPAC or any corporate special-interest aligned have been spending record-breaking amounts of dark money to try and influence primary elections. Now, Michigan’s 8th District is in the crosshairs: Big donors and special interest groups have a single agenda in mind — their own. You can bet my opponent who has taken 20% of her money from PACs and 72% from “large donors” has a laundry list of favors to do if she wins this race and can get to Congress. But I'm different. To date, I’ve taken no money from PACs. I'm running for Congress because, like a majority (76%) of Democrats, I support a ceasefire. Like a majority (57%) of Democrats, I believe the government should ensure all Americans have health insurance. And like a majority (78%) of Democrats, I believe passing Climate Change should be a top priority for Democrats in Congress. If you want to create a future in American politics where candidates like me can win competitive primary elections against the establishment’s handpicked candidate, please make a donation of $1 or more right now – with all of us coming together to fight back we can Because I’m not beholden to special interest groups, PACs and mega-donors like my opponent is, I am running on a platform that has the best interest of hardworking families across Michigan's 8th District – not to benefit corporate special interests or dark money groups. And as a native of this district, I know firsthand what needs the attention of our next member of Congress. [This is not just my race and my campaign, {NAME}. This is our campaign, and our state and our country’s future is on the line, {NAME}. A donation of $5 right now will allow us to stay on track to hit our fundraising goals and keep on the path to victory over the next 30 days. Together, we can make history and ensure the voices of grassroots donors are heard loud and clear in the halls of power in Michigan and Washington D.C.]( If you've stored your info with ActBlue Express, we'll process your contribution instantly: [DONATE $5]( [DONATE $20.24]( [DONATE $100]( [ANOTHER AMOUNT]( you, {NAME}. I can’t do any of this without you, - Dr. Pamela Pugh --------------------------------------------------------------- I’m Dr. Pamela Pugh, and I’m a Saginaw native running for Congress in Michigan's 8th District. I've spent my career fighting to improve the lives of Michigan residents through public health initiatives, and as the Chief Public Health Advisor for Flint I played a pivotal role in standing alongside Flint residents during the water crisis. As a public servant, I currently serve as the President of the Michigan State Board of Education, a statewide elected position. I believe in standing up for the people and fighting for our democracy, our children, and our future. I've lived in Michigan's 8th District for my entire life and it will be the honor of a lifetime to represent my community in the House of Representatives. I'm relying on grassroots contributions to fuel my campaign to victory — [so please chip in what you can right now!]( Our email list is an important tool for us to reach Democrats and activists in Michigan and around the country.
