[Pamela Pugh for Congress]( Okay, I just had more thing to get off my chest about the debate, {NAME}. If you've been following our campaign, you already know: I’m Dr. Pamela Pugh — a scientist, statewide elected official, public health expert, and advocate for education, the environment, and for folks in my community here in Saginaw, Michigan, and the City of Flint. [If you were disgusted by what you saw on stage last night, will you contribute right now to make sure our multi-cultural, pro-ceasefire, pro-peace campaign is ready and willing to fight back with everything in our arsenal to elect another pro-ceasefire member of Congress who will advocate for more “Black (and brown) Jobs” in an open, toss-up seat?]( I am the sole pro-ceasefire candidate in this fiercely contested primary, representing our nation's most densely Arab-American state. Endorsed by my steadfast ally, Rep. Rashida Tlaib, I am committed to bringing down the status quo and fighting for all human rights. Together, we will not rest until we secure a ceasefire in Gaza. In the crucible of that televised arena, where political discourse should enlighten and inspire, instead, it sank to depths uncharted. Both candidates faltered; their rhetoric a symphony of blame, evasion, and vitriol. But Trump's unvarnished racism hit a new low as he dehumanized Palestinians, reducing their plight and suffering to a slur while mocking President Biden to "let Israel finish the job." It was a moment that shook me to my core and left me praying for America's moral compass. Amidst all the lies that were spewed last night, one resonant truth emerged: neither candidate, in their verbal jousting and policy posturing, will call for a ceasefire in Gaza. Then, and this was perhaps the most striking moment {NAME}, Trump asserted that illegal immigrants were usurping Black and Hispanic jobs. As a Black woman with a doctorate degree, a scientist, public health expert, congressional candidate, organizer, advocate, and educator – what on this climate change-affected earth is a “Black Job”? For me, this was not just political theater but a profound moment of disillusionment—a stark reminder of the urgent need for action. In the aftermath of yesterday's debacle, it's clear that we must unite not only to safeguard Palestinian lives but also to reclaim the soul of America. If Rep. Bowman's recent race has taught us anything, it's that the Israel-Palestine conflict ignites passions and reveals where politicians' loyalties truly lie—with their constituents or with political success. Let me be clear: {NAME}: I stand firm in my principles. Forever. So, my fellow advocates for justice, will you stand with us? Your contributions are crucial as we brace against the onslaught of attacks from AIPAC, which has silenced too many voices of reason in 17 races so far, including Rep. Bowman’s. [Act now because although the debate was unsettling, the prospect of a future under Trump's leadership is nothing short of terrifying.]( We won’t just be using your financial support to keep on talking the talk, either. With your help, our multicultural coalition will come together next week and hire 10 new organizers for our GOTV program in Mid-Michigan ahead of our August 6th primary. That’s right, we walk the walk too. Leading with justice, fairness, and peace, Dr. Pamela Pugh --------------------------------------------------------------- I’m Dr. Pamela Pugh, and I’m a Saginaw native running for Congress in Michigan's 8th District. I've spent my career fighting to improve the lives of Michigan residents through public health initiatives, and as the Chief Public Health Advisor for Flint I played a pivotal role in standing alongside Flint residents during the water crisis. As a public servant, I currently serve as the President of the Michigan State Board of Education, a statewide elected position. I believe in standing up for the people and fighting for our democracy, our children, and our future. I've lived in Michigan's 8th District for my entire life and it will be the honor of a lifetime to represent my community in the House of Representatives. I'm relying on grassroots contributions to fuel my campaign to victory — [so please chip in what you can right now!]( Our email list is an important tool for us to reach Democrats and activists in Michigan and around the country.
