{NAME}, this is John Pugh, Dr. Pamela Pugh’s father, wishing your family a Happy Father’s Day! [Pamela Pugh for Congress]( {NAME}, this is John Pugh, Dr. Pamela Pugh’s father, wishing your family a Happy Father’s Day! Public service is very important in our family. As Pam mentioned last month in her Memorial Day outreach, I served in the U.S. Air Force in the 1960’s and also spent most of my career as an administrator and an economics professor at Delta College. Our family’s lineage of service and helping others in need goes back even further than my own – Pam’s grandparents opened up a school down in Mississippi where our family is from, and when we relocated to Michigan’s 8th District when Pam was just a baby, her mom took care of many children in our community as their moms went to work, including many of my colleagues. She later became a paraprofessional working with children with disabilities to help them learn, grow, and thrive. And of course, on Father’s Day I would be remiss not to mention that any Father or any parent knows that raising children is the ultimate act of giving up your own self to invest in our future generations – putting your time, energy, wealth, spirit, and whole self into raising your children is in some ways, the ultimate act of service – and one that teaches you beautiful new things about yourself and the world around you. I remember taking Pam to her first DNC convention with me as I served as a DNC Delegate for Rev. Jesse Jackson, Sr. That must have planted a seed in her mind about politics. As Pam’s father, I could not be prouder of the life she’s led remaining engaged in grassroots politics and the career she’s had in public service. Now, her campaign for Congress is nearing an inflection point, and she needs our help. [So as a Father, please join me in celebrating Pam - a daughter who I raised to become an exceptional leader, daughter, aunt, and friend to many - today, with a contribution to her campaign for Congress! Please donate $5 or any amount you can to help us celebrate Father's Day by using this link or the buttons below:]( If you've stored your info with ActBlue Express, we'll process your contribution instantly: [DONATE $8]( [DONATE $20.24]( [DONATE $100]( [ANOTHER AMOUNT]( Thanks for all your help in getting Pam elected to Congress, - John Pugh Pam's dad --------------------------------------------------------------- I’m Dr. Pamela Pugh, and I’m a Saginaw native running for Congress in Michigan's 8th District. I've spent my career fighting to improve the lives of Michigan residents through public health initiatives, and as the Chief Public Health Advisor for Flint I played a pivotal role in standing alongside Flint residents during the water crisis. As a public servant, I currently serve as the President of the Michigan State Board of Education, a statewide elected position. I believe in standing up for the people and fighting for our democracy, our children, and our future. I've lived in Michigan's 8th District for my entire life and it will be the honor of a lifetime to represent my community in the House of Representatives. I'm relying on grassroots contributions to fuel my campaign to victory — [so please chip in what you can right now!]( Our email list is an important tool for us to reach Democrats and activists in Michigan and around the country.
