It looks like our grassroots movement is working to win this open, toss-up seat in Michigan’s 8

It looks like our grassroots movement is working to win this open, toss-up seat in Michigan’s 8th District is getting some attention. [Pamela Pugh for Congress]( {NAME}, I apologize for reaching out so late this evening, but this just came to my attention. It looks like our grassroots movement working to win this open, toss-up seat in Michigan’s 8th District is getting some attention: Our team just notified me that a big Republican Congressional Super PAC has put down an ad buy reservation for a staggering $2.3 million in Flint in our district's broadcast TV media market ahead of the General Election. [Could you help us fight back and hit our $20,000 online fundraising end-of-month goal? Donate right now to help us build a competitive campaign that can win in November despite Republican Super PAC attacks.]( Let me be clear on one thing. This is just a “reservation,” and it doesn’t mean that the money has changed hands and the attack ads are already purchased. So, if we can win this primary, run a strong enough campaign, and build a huge campaign war chest by September – this super PAC (and others like it) may look at their polling and decide to invest in Arizona, Georgia, or another swing state. That’s why this is so urgent, {NAME}. My campaign team and I need to make sure we are prepared for whatever Republicans want to throw our way. [Will you donate]( now to make sure we can hit our end-of-month goal and stay on track to reach enough of my constituents with the right messages and the truth about my background, record, and campaign promises all the way through the November election?]( As a Black woman campaigning for Congress in the swing district in Michigan that has decided the last three presidential elections, this is certainly not the last time we will see news about dark money from Republicans in our district during this election cycle. Thanks for standing with me, – Dr. Pamela Pugh --------------------------------------------------------------- I’m Dr. Pamela Pugh, and I’m a Saginaw native running for Congress in Michigan's 8th District. I've spent my career fighting to improve the lives of Michigan residents through public health initiatives, and as the Chief Public Health Advisor for Flint I played a pivotal role in standing alongside Flint residents during the water crisis. As a public servant, I currently serve as the President of the Michigan State Board of Education, a statewide elected position. I believe in standing up for the people and fighting for our democracy, our children, and our future. I've lived in Michigan's 8th District for my entire life and it will be the honor of a lifetime to represent my community in the House of Representatives. I'm relying on grassroots contributions to fuel my campaign to victory — [so please chip in what you can right now!]( Our email list is an important tool for us to reach Democrats and activists in Michigan and around the country.
