I know it was a lot, but I appreciate you all for staying engaged with our deluge of fundraising emails and text messages at the end-of-quarter deadline over the Easter weekend. I had to take a moment to unplug myself over the last few days before getting back in touch. Here’s why we had to reach out so often, and some good news as a result of our push: I’m excited to share with you that we DID smash our big EOQ goal of over 1,000 online donations in March 2024, which for a competitive House race like ours has built a solid foundation for us to stay in the mix. While some of my opponents have already announced higher total fundraising hauls, nobody has announced as many total donors as our campaign has. That means while their support is from the establishment elites and much of what they can raise has already been tapped, we are building momentum and a base of grassroots supporters in Michigan and across the country that will chip in what they can when they can to carry us to victory in the August primary and the November general elections. So, thank you to each of the 2,000+ donors who have made an online contribution to our campaign so far. Our online support is continuing to grow month-over-month and is the “secret weapon” of our campaign that none of my opponents in this race have. Since I don’t come from a wealthy background, and I’m not a “traditional” candidate, I simply wouldn’t be competitive in this race without all of your support and donations you’ve made to emails and text messages like these. I’m humbled, and I’m forever grateful. {NAME}, as a progressive Black woman trying to make history in this race for Congress and help Democrats take back the House in 2024, your grassroots backing means the world to me.
