I shared my thoughts on the visit with the press [Pamela Pugh for Congress]( {NAME}, President Biden and his campaign are pretty selective about where they go on the campaign trail, but this month they visited my hometown of Saginaw, Michigan. (And if you saw my [commentary in the news]( I thought the visit could have been better planned and executed.) Regardless, President Biden and his campaign visited our district out of the 435 congressional districts they could possibly visit. Here’s why: Saginaw is the only county in Michigan that has voted for the last four presidential campaign winners. We are the epitome of a swing city, a swing county, and a swing district. Democrats need to win Saginaw to win back the House, hold the Senate, and hold the Presidency. That’s why electing the right Democrat to defend this open, toss-up seat is so important. I firmly believe I am the Democrat running for this seat who can build the strongest coalition of voters that can win in November. Between my personal and professional accomplishments, my campaign team who has helped me win two statewide elections to the State Board of Education, and how hard we’ve been working on the campaign trail, we’re in this to win it. [But if we want to see my name on the ballot in November, we simply need to raise more money, and quickly. Our EOQ deadline is coming up at midnight on Sunday, and we need another $16,250 at the latest count to hit our goal and stay competitive in this race. If you can help us win this contested primary and get on the ballot in November, please pitch in $33 or any amount right now to help us hit our quarterly fundraising goal →]( If you've stored your info with ActBlue Express, we'll process your contribution instantly: [DONATE $3]( [DONATE $33]( [DONATE $133]( [ANOTHER AMOUNT]( Thank you for donating and helping me build a people-powered campaign at this deadline, Dr. Pamela Pugh --------------------------------------------------------------- I’m Dr. Pamela Pugh, and I’m a Saginaw native running for Congress in Michigan's 8th District. I've spent my career fighting to improve the lives of Michigan residents through public health initiatives, and as the Chief Public Health Advisor for Flint I played a pivotal role in standing alongside Flint residents during the water crisis. As a public servant, I currently serve as the President of the Michigan State Board of Education, a statewide elected position. I believe in standing up for the people and fighting for our democracy, our children, and our future. I've lived in Michigan's 8th District for my entire life and it will be the honor of a lifetime to represent my community in the House of Representatives. I'm relying on grassroots contributions to fuel my campaign to victory — [so please chip in what you can right now!]( Our email list is an important tool for us to reach Democrats and activists in Michigan and around the country.
