But on Wednesday, conservatives were vindicated (yet again), this time thanks to the work of Republican Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley. Grassley [wrote a bombshell letter]( to Attorney General Merrick Garland and FBI Director Christopher Wray Tuesday detailing how the FBI obtained information from more than 40 confidential sources on potential criminal matters related to Joe Biden, his brother James and son Hunter Biden. The Iowa senator also revealed how the FBI allegedly undermined its own sources on "criminal information" related to Joe Biden, Hunter Biden and James Biden. "As just one initial example, I've been made aware that at one point in time the FBI maintained over 40 Confidential Human Sources that provided criminal information relating to Joe Biden, James Biden, and Hunter Biden," he wrote in the letter. "It's been alleged that the basis for shutting the investigative activity down was an August 2020 assessment created by FBI Supervisory Intelligence Analyst Brian Auten. That assessment was used by an FBI HQ team to improperly discredit negative Hunter Biden information as disinformation and caused investigative activity to cease." Grassley's letter concludes by requesting records related to his allegations and informing the DOJ and FBI of 25 people he plans on interviewing at a later date. HOT OFF THE PRESS Speaker Drama Comes To A Close: Republican Rep. Mike Johnson of Louisiana secured the gavel on the first vote Wednesday after the House had been without a speaker for three weeks. In case anyone is doubting his conservative bona fides, Johnson once called for Nancy Pelosi to be [charged with a felony]( after she tore up Donald Trump's State of the Union speech in 2020. Uncle Joe's Gotta Go: [Is this poll]( the dead canary in Biden's coal mine? It certainly seems that way. According to a new Gallup survey, Biden's approval rating among Democrats nosedived 11 points in just one month, reaching a historic low of 75%. The president's current overall approval rating slipped four points in September to 37%, according to the same poll. Maine Tragedy: Forty-year-old [Robert Card]( is wanted by police after they identified him as a person of interest in the deadly mass shooting that occurred Wednesday night.
