KEVIN MCCARTHY GAETZ THE BOOT; SPEAKER RACE HEATS UP For the first time in U.S. history, the House voted to remove its Speaker on Tuesday after eight Republicans joined Democrats to give Kevin McCarthy the boot. Republican Reps. Matt Gaetz, Bob Good, Tim Burchett, Eli Crane, Matt Rosendale, Andy Biggs, Ken Buck and Nancy Mace all voted to oust McCarthy in a move driving a wedge between Whether you love him or hate him, or think he's blander than whole-wheat bread and dumber than a bag of bricks, Kevin McCarthy is out after a a mini-rebellion led by a slick used-car salesman from Florida, Matt Gaetz. McCarthy isn't alone, though. Another high-profile Washington political figure got the boot this week: [Commander Biden]( Joe Biden's German Shepherd. A ferocious pooch with more [bite than bark]( the White House finally kicked out Commander after [he bit the groundskeeper]( during a stroll. Listen, we don't blame the dog. In fact, we empathize with him. If we were stuck in such a dysfunctional, low-energy workplace with Karine Jean-Pierre, cackling Kamala and Pumpkin Spice libs, we'd probably lash out too. In fact, according to several dog trainers [who spoke]( with the Daily Caller, dogs sometimes get nippy due to a lack of leadership and direction from their owners. So if Biden isn't Alpha enough to tame his pooch, how could he ever lead the greatest country in the world? In This Week’s Patriots Newsletter: - Real Big News: McCarthy faces the sack, and GOP leaders announce their bids - Hot Off The Press: Cornel West might be a bigger threat for Biden than RFK, FBI agent Chan may be held in contempt, and Newsom chooses his replacement for Sen. Feinstein - For The Record: The Daily Caller breaks down the failures of the RNC and Fox News in delivering a debate worth anyone's time Everything we do is made possible by our faithful subscribers. Republican Reps. Matt Gaetz, Bob Good, Tim Burchett, Eli Crane, Matt Rosendale, Andy Biggs, Ken Buck and Nancy Mace all voted to oust McCarthy in a move driving a wedge between the conservative world. Moments before the vote, several lawmakers [booed]( Gaetz for spearheading the effort to remove McCarthy while simultaneously fundraising for his reelection campaign. "When it comes to how those raise money, I take no lecture on asking patriotic Americans to weigh in and contribute to this fight from those who would grovel and bend the knee for the lobbyists and special interests, who own our leadership–" Gaetz said before Republicans burst out into loud "boos." "Boo, all you want!" [Gaetz]( fired back. "–who have hollowed out this town, and have borrowed against the future of our future generations," the congressman continued. "I'll be happy to fund my political operation through the work of hardworking Americans $10 and $20 and $30 at a time and you all keep showing up at the lobbyist fundraisers and see how that goes for you." McCarthy addressed the media after his ouster, confirming that he won't seek another tenure as Speaker but that he was proud to have served for as long as he did. "I don't regret standing up for choosing governance over grievance. It is my responsibility. It is my job. I do not regret negotiating, our government is designed to find compromise. I don't regret my efforts to build coalitions and find solutions. I was raised to solve problems not create. So I may have lost the vote today. But as I walk out of this chamber, I feel fortunate to observe the American people," McCarthy [said](. The dust has settled, for now at least. However, two top GOP leaders, [Jim Jordan]( and Steve Scalise, have already announced their bids for House Speaker, with the former receiving an endorsement from Donald Trump on Thursday. HOT OFF THE PRESS Forget Independent RFK: Although RFK Jr. [sparked]( an initial wave of panic among Biden loyalists immediately after declaring his candidacy, another dark horse has risen to the forefront who may siphon off critical votes from Biden in the 2024 election: left-wing professor Cornel West. One political consultant told the Caller West is a "much bigger threat" to Biden due to his support among black Americans, a demographic that helped push Biden over the finish line in 2020. Elvis Hides Off Stage: FBI agent Elvis Chan, who appeared to lie under oath about his role in censoring the Hunter Biden laptop story, [dodged his scheduled]( testimony before the House Judiciary Committee on Thursday. "Everything is on the table for Mr. Chan, including contempt," Russell Dye, a spokesperson for the Judiciary Committee told the Caller. Newsom's List: California Gov. Gavin Newsom picked his replacement for deceased Sen. Dianne Feinstein earlier this week: Laphonza Butler, the president of the pro-abortion group EMILY's List. A CNN analyst [said]( the move didn't make any sense and was "identity politics to the extreme." TRENDING What's your take on this? [Click here]( and scroll down to leave a comment! FOR THE RECORD MSRNC: After two flat GOP primary debates which were more depressing than a local DMV, the Caller [wrote an incisive report]( on why the RNC and Fox News are failing to deliver an exciting, informative debate for actual conservatives who love America. Dinner Of Dunces: The Daily Caller [grilled]( the legion of corporate media executives and liberal talking hacks who attended a celebration dinner for White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre. We'd rather go out to dinner with Commander than spend one minute at Karine's cringe-fest. DC ORIGINALS The fallout from the radical "Defund the Police" movement has only just begun. During the investigation for our newest documentary Lawless, we sat down with the co-founder of Save Austin Now, a PAC determined to restore public safety for the people of Austin, TX. What we learned is insane. “If we get to a situation where we have a serious bank robbery in North Austin, and something happening at [Austin City Limits music festival] at the same time – we will not have enough police officers to respond to both incidents.” And this is just the tip of the iceberg. The shocking state of Austin's police department means that they might not even answer the phone when you dial 911. Check out the exclusive clip now. [WATCH NOW]( GET MEME'D Make it make sense.
