Here's the Daily Caller's Reagan Reese on Biden's unbefitting tweet announcing the dropout: Since his June debate performance against former President Donald Trump where he stumbled through answers and looked confused, the 81-year-old faced calls from allies within his party to drop out. Touting his achievements throughout his presidency, Biden told Americans Sunday that he believed it was best for his party and country to drop out of the race and focus on the rest of his term. “It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve as your President. And while it has been my intention to seek reelection, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as president for the remainder of my term,” Biden wrote in a Twitter statement. Biden made clear his support for Vice President Kamala Harris for president in the 2024 race, thanking her for serving alongside him. “For now, let me express my deepest gratitude to all those who have worked so hard to see me reelected. I want to thank Vice President Kamala Harris for being an extraordinary partner in all this work. And let me express my heartfelt appreciation to the American people for the faith and trust you have placed in me,” Biden wrote. In a separate tweet, Biden said choosing Harris as his vice president was the best decision when he chose to run in 2020, and he endorsed her to replace him atop the Democratic ticket. In the immediate aftermath, a flurry of Democrats endorsed Kamala, and top [Democratic donors began flooding]( her new campaign with cash: A deep-pocketed group of progressive donors has endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election. Democracy Alliance, a club of major left-of-center donors, voted Sunday to endorse Harris in the upcoming election. Members of the organization, who join a growing coalition of wealthy donors throwing their support behind Harris, have steered more than $2 billion to liberal campaigns and organizations over the past twenty years. "We are 100 percent all in and ready to deliver," Democracy Alliance president Pamela Shifman said in a statement, according to the NYT. "We're going to win." Harris got more good news earlier Monday when Abigail Disney, the Disney heiress who had threatened to withhold donations from Democrats unless President Joe Biden was removed from the ticket, announced she would donate to the Harris campaign and hold a fundraiser for the vice president. Susie Tompkins Buell, a major donor based in California who supported Harris' 2020 presidential campaign, will also hold a fundraiser for her. Ron Conway, an influential liberal donor from Silicon Valley, has also committed to backing Harris. “The tech community must come together to defeat Donald Trump and save our democracy by uniting behind Vice President Kamala Harris," Conway said in a statement, according to the NYT. Biden finally [addressed]( the nation publicly for the first time Wednesday since abruptly dropping out of the race four days earlier and seemingly ghosting America: While being out of the public eye since July 17 due to a COVID-19 diagnosis, Biden wrote a letter, [posted]( to Twitter, announcing that he would be dropping out of the presidential race. The 81-year-old president was seen publicly for the first time Tuesday since July 17, dodging questions about his decision to drop out. Biden, giving the fourth Oval Office address of his presidency, said he dropped out for the sake of "unity," while encouraging Americans to vote wisely in the upcoming election. "In recent weeks, it's become clear to me, I need to unite my party in this critical endeavor. I believe my record as President, my leadership in the world, my vision for America's future, all merited a second term, but nothing, nothing can come in the way of saving our democracy that includes personal ambition. So I've decided the best way forward is to pass the torch to a new generation. That's the best way to unite our nation," Biden said in his Oval Office address. "You know, there is a time and a place for long years of experience in public life. There's also a time and a place for new voices, fresh voices, yes, younger voices. And that time and place is now. Over the next six months, I'll be focused on doing my job as president," he continued. The president, while touting his administration achievements, told the country that the nature of America is at risk in the upcoming election. Biden also promoted Vice President Kamala Harris and attempted to stress the importance of Americans' vote. "The great thing about America is here, kings and dictators do not rule. The people do. History is in your hands. The power is in your hands. The idea of America lies in your hands. You just have to keep faith, keep the faith, and remember who we are. We're the United States of America, and there's simply nothing nothing beyond our capacity. We do it together. Let's act together, preserve our democracy," Biden said, alluding to his previous campaign message about Trump. HOT OFF THE PRESS Photo by Andrew Harnick/Getty Images KJP's Biggest Blunder Yet: White House flack Karine Jean-Pierre poured gasoline on valid (and probably true) speculation that the administration and liberal media engaged in a wide-scale coverup of Biden's cognitive decline throughout his tenure in office. In what amounts to a communications blunder, KJP briskly, and flatly, denied there was a coverup, which is not what you are supposed to say when someone makes an accusation against you. Here's the Daily Caller's [Mary Rooke sounding off]( Instead of answering these legitimate questions, Jean-Pierre claimed there wasn't a conspiracy to cover up for Biden. According to her, Biden dropped out because he was a "selfless" American hero. It would have been better for the White House and the Harris campaign if Jean-Pierre had responded: "Look, it's under investigation, and when we find out more, you'll be the first to know." When a public official, who speaks on behalf of the president, tells the American people not to believe their lying eyes after years of uncovering mistruths from people in power, it only serves to add fuel to an already burning fire of distrust. Americans lived through the Russia collusion hoax, two failed impeachments of a sitting president, the Hunter laptop disinformation campaign and the mother of them all – COVID-19. Rather than an answer that quelled speculation of a highly coordinated coverup within the White House, Jean-Pierre threw out red meat to people starving for something to eat. Hamas-holes Burn Flag: The Daily Caller had [boots on the ground]( Wednesday when pro-Palestine activists crowded outside Union Station in Washington, D.C., lowered an American flag and burned it. Chaos ensued as police pepper sprayed protesters who lit the flag and an effigy of Netanyahu on fire. Protesters also chanted "burn that shit!" as the flag went up in flames in front of D.C.'s iconic train station. However, one patriotic citizen attempted to stop the protesters from burning the flag. Dems Bash Kamala: Six House Democrats voted in favor of a resolution condemning Biden's administration and Vice President Kamala Harris for their "failure to secure the United States border" on Thursday. Introduced by Republican New York Rep. Elise Stefanik, H.Res. 1371 formally condemned [“Border Czar”]( Harris' immigration policy after she was tasked with reducing illegal immigration over the southern border early in the Biden administration. The resolution passed the House with 196 Democrats voting against it and six Democrats joining 214 Republicans in favor of it. The Democratic lawmakers include Reps. Yadira Caraveo of Colorado, Donald Davis of North Carolina, Jared Golden of Maine, Marie Gluesenkamp Perez of Washington, Henry Cuellar of Texas and Mary Peltola of Alaska. FOR THE RECORD Tsarina Kamala: Corporate media, most notably Axios, [went into overdrive mode]( week in a desperate attempt to memory-hole Kamala Harris' record as "border czar." In the most glaring example of media spin, Axios reporter Stef W. Kight contradicted her own outlet's reporting on the matter, writing an article with the headline "Harris border confusion haunts her new campaign." Axios then tweeted the story with the caption "The Trump campaign and Republicans have tagged Harris repeatedly with the "border czar" title — which she never actually had." But Axios used that very title to describe Kamala in a April 2021 article, writing, "Harris, appointed by Biden as border czar, said she would be looking at the 'root causes' that drive migration." The same reporter also wrote a March 2021 article with the headline, “Biden puts Harris in charge of border crisis.” They Never Learn: The Daily Caller’s Mary Rooke [weighs in]( on the media’s new efforts to spin Kamala’s border czar record: The reality is that all the outlets have gone full force into pushing the same narrative. Not to be cliche by invoking George Orwell's "1984," but the comparisons between the media's decision to erase the past to make it fit with the present narrative have no greater mirror than Winston Smith's diligent work for the Party at the Ministry of Truth. It was true in 2021, but that truth is no longer convenient, so it must be corrected to reflect the new truth that is now correct. Americans need to brace themselves. This election season will see copious amounts of historical rewrites in favor of Harris. She has to be a god-like figure who has never done wrong. They will paint her as the savior America has been looking for. Still, Americans are used to this after sitting through four years of them lying to us about Biden's mental health.
