As Rhode Island continues to seek solutions for the ongoing housing shortage could the answer be staring down at us? Streets throughout the state are lined with triple-deckers, the once popular housing option that especially filled mill towns during the early 1900s. And while the style was a booming choice at the time it wasn't much later that they fell out of favor. Just like at that time, when housing was in need, maybe now is the time to bring them back. David DelPoio/The Providence Journal As we continue to look at Rhode Island's housing situation, [The Journal's Tom Mooney takes a look back at triple-deckers and asks if it could be part of the solution.]( • Lately Textron has been in the news as protests related to the company's involvement in the Israel-Hamas war have taken place outside its Providence headquarters. Despite those protests, the company said it is posed for a successful 2024.
