[@Will_Richmond]( Good morning, I'm Will Richmond at The Providence Journal and this is the Daily Briefing. If you have plans for Saturday night I feel bad for you, unless of course, those plans involve the URI-PC basketball game. That's right, the biggest rivalry in little Rhode Island is back and I for one am looking forward to the matchup. I'm not the only one. A look at the ticket reselling site Stubhub shows a couple of tickets are going for over $1,000. While that number is likely someone hoping for a big payday, it is a reminder that the game is likely to be sold out and if you want to sit in the lower section of the Amica Mutual Pavilion you're probably paying at least $100 per ticket. [Uri Vs Pc 11] Providence College and the University of Rhode Island battle in 2022. David DelPoio/Providence Journal, file It may just be worth it. Sure, it's been a couple of lean years for URI, while PC has had a run of success, but there's something about a rivalry game that always brings out the best. The atmosphere should be electric and the fans of the two schools won't be afraid to trash talk each other, even if it means they'll see each other again at work on Monday. Just ask columnist John Rooke, who will be on the radio call for WPRO, PC's flagship station.[In his latest column for The Journal]( Rooke notes that while the coaches and players of the two schools know each other and it takes some of the edge out of the game, the fans feel otherwise. "...it sure is fun to hear the chants, the taunts, the screams, the insults…and the passion. As long as the schools keep letting fans into the games, the fire will never completely go out. Even if, in reality, it’s just another game," Rooke writes. I've been to enough of these games and non-rivalry games to know the feeling in the stands is different. Yes, it gets heated when a highly-ranked team comes to town, but there's something about for this game there's more of the visiting teams fans in the stands and a willingness for fans of either team to let the losing team know what's going on. [That's a sentiment The Journal's Bill Koch shares]( as he recalls some past moments and notes that another game happening in Providence tonight makes for an excellent weekend of in-state hoops. I won't be at this year's game, but I'll be watching and I can't wait. Don't miss a thing from this year's college hoops season.
