Every day at my son's bus stop the kids know when the bus is approaching before it comes into sight. The rumbling sound is a sure sign they're about to be picked up. They're also generally right. They might be disappointed if the change taking place with buses in Providence happens around the state. On Monday, First Student, the company that provides bus services for the Providence Public School District unveiled four electric buses that will be used in fleet taking students to and from school. It was a moment marked with the state's two U.S. Senators on hand, as well as with silence. That's because, as one of the buses pulled out of the garage for a demonstration it barely made a sound.
