Since the land opened following the relocation of Interstate 195 there has been a mix of successful efforts to build along the site and some that didn't go beyond the point of renderings and presentations. Now another parcel is up for consideration and a popular Providence attraction is hoping to secure the space to create a permanent home, but there's competition. The Providence Journal / Kris Craig Providence Flea, which already uses the site in question during the summer months, has eyes on the site. Their plans go beyond the funky market of juried vendors to create an open-air pavilion that can also host events. Other proposals include mixes of retail, housing and office space.
