[@Will_Richmond]( Good morning, I'm Will Richmond at The Providence Journal and this is the Daily Briefing. Despite the awful seasons shared by the New England Patriots and New York Giants, two of the more popular teams around Rhode Island, there is some good football news to talk about â and no it's not because the Patriots aren't playing this weekend. Instead, teams from across Rhode Island will line up against each other to battle it out in high school Super Bowls. Eight teams that started in the heat of August will have their seasons come to an end with one the victor and one falling a game short. (Yes, I know there's still Thanksgiving football, but completing the playoffs before the holiday games renders them as little more than playing for pride.) The matchups begin at Cranston Stadium on Saturday with the Division II, III and IV championships on the line. [_C4_1037.jpg] Brayden Rogers, North Kingstown football Eric Rueb / Providence Journal Beginning at noon Cumberland and Barrington will play for the D II title, followed by Middletown and West Warwick at 3 p.m. for the D III crown. The day will end with Davies and North Providence battling for the D IV championship at 6 p.m. To wrap up Super Bowl weekend Bishop Hendricken and North Kingstown will play at noon for the Division I title.
