[@Will_Richmond]( Good morning, I'm Will Richmond at The Providence Journal and this is the Daily Briefing. It certainly felt like a wet summer. With a son involved in youth sports, it seemed that every gameday started with a check of the forecast. Would there be rain later that day that would lead to a cancellation? Would it rain here but not at the field? For my family the inconsistency of the rain was the toughest to deal with at times resulting in us leaving the house for an event, only to get the email telling us it would be postponed on the way. [01 Downpour 07102023] Monday afternoon downpours flood portions of Douglas Ave in front of the North Providence Marketplace forcing a temporary closing of the section of road on July 10, 2023. Kris Craig, The Providence Journal Compared to others who had to deal with flooding to their homes or were stuck on roadways what I dealt with was a minor inconvenience, but still not what we want from summer. And now we watch as Hurricane Lee makes its way through the Atlantic potentially bringing more rain, but up to now just how bad has it been? Well, the numbers are in and The Journal's Alex Kuffner has a breakdown of how rainy it has been in Rhode Island this summer, along with how it compares to other locations in the Northeast. It turns out Providence has something in common with Albany, New York; Concord, New Hampshire and Worcester, Massachusetts. What do the numbers say?
