[@Will_Richmond]( Good morning, I'm Will Richmond at The Providence Journal and this is the Daily Briefing. Did you make it to PVDFest this year? In the past, my family had taken in the downtown event and enjoyed the atmosphere. Live performances, art and the ability for the kids to enjoy a Del's or other treats, while mom and dad sipped on a cocktail in a cool color-changing PVDFest cup made for a nice excuse to get to Providence. Admittedly my weekend was too busy to make it but from the sounds of some, it wasn't the festival the city had put on in the past. [Fest 2] Downtown Providence PVDFest David DelPoio Sure some fairly extreme weather didn't help as rain washed out parts of Saturday and a flash flood watch canceled events on Sunday, but other complaints also cropped up, especially from some food trucks that had hoped for a big weekend. The Journal's Amy Russo talked with vendors to learn more about how Mayor Brett Smiley's changes to the three-day event played out as compared to how it was run by his predecessor Jorge Elorza. Beyond the weather, what complaints do the vendors have and just how did this year's event compare? [Check out Amy's story and find out more](.
