[@Will_Richmond]( Good morning, I'm Will Richmond at The Providence Journal and this is the Daily Briefing. It's Election Day, at least in some parts of the state, but in a place like Rhode Island, Congressional representation is likely to have a statewide effect, so even if you don't like in the 1st Congressional District, there's a good reason to pay attention to the outcome. With summer at the forefront, it was probably easy to forget a race was taking place. In between vacations and parties, the attention may not have been on the mail advertisements coming in or the many debates and forums the candidates participated in, so if you're trying to cram this morning before heading to the polls we can help. With 11 Democratic candidates in the field, [The Providence Journal asked each where they stand on the biggest issues.]( Note, you'll find responses from Don Carlson, who announced [he was ending his campaign]( after submitting his answers. You can also [find responses from one of the two Republican candidates here]( or see how they [responded to questions during a forum]( held by The Journal, The Public's Radio and RI PBS. Kris Craig, The Providence Journal If you're looking for a one-stop site that captures just about everything the candidates have been doing for the past couple, [we've rounded up our coverage here]( to create an easy guide to Election Day. And, of course, just because the primary election is here it doesn't mean we're done. We'll have reporters throughout the district today so be sure to check providencejournal.com all day for updates and as the votes start coming in we'll have all the results. And then we'll be right back at it as Tuesday's winners move on to the November election. This free newsletter is possible thanks to our subscribers.
