[@Will_Richmond]( Good morning, I'm Will Richmond at The Providence Journal and this is the Daily Briefing. It may not be the kind of day that gains massive attention, but if you didn't know today is National Lighthouse Day. Here in Rhode Island, it could be marked as a state holiday. In honor of this significant day, The Journal's Katie Landeck has compiled a comprehensive guide to Rhode Island's lighthouses. Did you know there are 21 of them dotting the state's landscape basically covering the water from the tip of Westerly to the end of Little Compton? Kris Craig/The Providence Journal If you didn't, Katie offers up a little history and tells you which ones can be visited and how to view those that can't. And of course, lighthouses have been in the news quite often lately as the Federal government has announced plans to turn over three state lighthouses including the [Beavertail Lighthouse]( – where there appears to be a smooth transition – and the Watch Hill Lighthouse – [which may not be as smooth](.
