[@Will_Richmond]( Good morning, I'm Will Richmond at The Providence Journal and this is the Daily Briefing. Unfortunately, this weekend brought another story about a person who drowned in Rhode Island waters, when a [15-year-old from Connecticut went missing]( while swimming in rough seas off Westerly Thursday night. It feels like this summer has brought too many of these stories – and really one is too many – as rip currents and rough conditions have led to these incidents. As the state reels from the incident in Westerly, a pair of drowning deaths off Conimicut Point in Warwick have resulted in a lawsuit. Those deaths occurred in 2021 when a group of family and friends from Central Falls visited the beach for the first time on Father's Day.
