[@Will_Richmond]( Good morning, I'm Will Richmond at The Providence Journal and this is the Daily Briefing. Sure Rhode Island may not traditionally garner the hype that other state do when it comes to high school sports. The area around Washington, D.C./Maryland/Virginia is known for basketball and southern Florida has long been a high school football hotbed. That isn't to say Rhode Island hasn't had some star power at the high school ranks. In recent years we've seen the likes of Sabastian Thomas go from Bishop Hendricken to play D-I basketball and last year South Kingstown’s Ben Brutti signed with the Cincinnati Reds after being an 11th-round pick. Berutti may even be topped this year by Hendricken's Alex Clemmey.
