[@Will_Richmond]( Good morning, I'm Will Richmond at The Providence Journal and this is the Daily Briefing. During the intense final week of debating bills in the General Assembly maybe there's some relief in having a bill come forward that just seems a bit absurd. That appeared to be the case in the state Senate last week when a bill that would have made it illegal to toss grass clippings into the street was put up for a vote. It was enough to make Senate President Dominick Ruggerio chuck as he called for the vote, The Journal's Patrick Anderson reports. How does a bill like this even make it for consideration? Patrick explains the process along with the role Sen. Hannah Gallo played in getting it to the Senate floor. [Grass Clippings] Leaving grass clippings on roadway. File He also has all the details on how the bill progressed as it passed the Senate and still needed House support to become law. Check out Patrick's story on one of the more unusual bills to hit the State House floor this past session. This free newsletter is possible thanks to our subscribers.
