There are few in Rhode Island that can tell the stories of the people and places that make up the Ocean State like Mark Patinkin and today's column is the latest testament to that. Mark recently met Marie Johnston, a Portsmouth woman who has spent the past 50 years giving her all for her daughter. Originally from Scotland, Marie and her daughter Lynn ended up in the United States in the hopes of learning why Lynn had seemingly stopped developing at 18 months of age, becoming non-verbal, among other symptoms.
