Also, how you can help provide relief to India. Good afternoon and welcome to This Just In. I'm Mike McDermott, managing editor of The Providence Journal. I just got my second shot of the Moderna vaccine today, it's beautiful outside, and I've got nothing to complain about. We're waiting for a reaction from Rhode Island health officials to the news that the CDC is greatly relaxing its mask guidance for fully vaccinated Americans. In most instances, the CDC says, these people [no longer need to worry about wearing masks or social distancing]( indoors or outdoors. However, state and local rules still apply, and Rhode Islanders, vaccinated or not, are still required to wear masks in public places indoors. The CDC news emerged as Gov. Dan McKee was holding his weekly coronavirus news briefing, and seemed to take state officials by surprise. At the briefing, McKee announced that nightclubs that require proof of vaccination [will soon be able to open at full capacity.]( He also said that, starting next week, residents of any state will be welcome to get vaccinated in Rhode Island. Twelve- to 15-year-olds can now get vaccines [without an appointment]( at 23 CVS pharmacies. The latest COVID numbers here: [two deaths, 149 additional cases]( While the pandemic seems increasingly tamed in the United States, it is raging in much of the world, particularly in India. Two physicians, who helped run Care New England's Cranston field hospital during our dark winter, have organized an effort to send a cargo jet filled with desperately needed medical supplies. [Find out how you can help]( Olayinka Alege, who until yesterday was an administrator in the Providence schools, has [pleaded not guilty]( to charges of assaulting a boy at a Warwick gym. Alege's lawyer says the allegations are "not what they appear to be." Meanwhile, a lawyer for former Cranston teacher Matthew Sheridan argued before the state Supreme Court that Sheridan's 2017 conviction for sexual assault [should be thrown out]( Bristol police [have arrested a Warwick man]( who they say posted Hitler stickers at public places around town, including on the windows of the public library. Chase Gilroy is charged with vandalism. Mark Patinkin's [latest column]( focuses on a former Lincoln elementary school teacher who has demonstrated remarkable resilience while fighting an unwinnable battle against ALS. Nancy Poon is an inspiration, and it's a story that's particularly timely as the ALS Association of Rhode Island prepares to hold its biggest annual fundraiser. Three new charter schools [are set to open]( in Providence over the next two years, following a vote by the Council on Elementary and Secondary Education. If you want to see Tom Brady's return to Gillette Stadium in person, [it will cost you $1,500 a pop](. And Brady's dad says [it won't be much of a game anyway](. Finally, with spring in the air (oh wait, it just got cloudy), here are [four great food places that just reopened for the season.]( Have a great night.
