[@Will_Richmond]( Good morning, I'm Will Richmond at [The Providence Journal]( and this is the Daily Briefing. If you've ever been to Narragansett Beach and not made the walk to the mouth of the Narrow River you're missing out. Any trip my family makes to the beach includes a trip to the north end of the beach, past the private Dunes Club. While there aren't any amenities, you'll find watercraft of all types pulled up on the sand along the river side of the beach. There's also the attraction of floating along the river to the ocean. Taking a trip to Narragansett Beach last weekend, my family made the float twice. But this year it's different down there. Winter storms have changed the river, creating sandbars along the route. One sandbar, known as Dog Island, is now fully connected to the beach. The changes have locals looking at potentially dredging the river. [dredging of the Narrow River Rep. Carol McEntee (from SK) Narragansett beach-3.jpg] Navigating the Narrow River toward Narraganset beach now requires edge of shore lanes as the middle has been filled with sandbars. David DelPoio/Providence Journal [The Journal's Jonny Williams recently joined state Rep. Carol McEntee and residents for a trip along the river to learn more about the problems along the waterway and the potential solutions being discussed.]( • If you're planning a trip to Narragansett tonight consider this a friendly warning, the Blessing of the Fleet road race is happening and this year 4,000 bibs were purchased.
