The buzz may not exist that normally comes with elections, but yes, today is the Presidential Primary in Rhode Island. There's a good reason why you may have been caught by surprise. With Joe Biden the only active candidate on the Democratic ticket and Donald Trump the last candidate standing on the Republican side, there isn't anything for the primary to determine. Though you'll still find other candidates on the ballot in both races, even an unlikely landslide victory wouldn't bring them back for national consideration. But there are still some things that matter today. There are races to determine, whether you choose to vote Republican or Democrat there are delegates to pick and send to the national conventions. [The Journal's Katherine Gregg has all the details on what to expect today and what it means.]( [Voting in Middletown Rhode Island Tuesday November 11th] A steady stream of voters cast ballots at Gaudet Middle School in Middletown in November. Will Richmond There is also a chance for some voters to make a bit of Rhode Island history when 17-year-olds who will be 18 before the November election are permitted to cast a ballot for the first time. Those are the conditions residents of a Cranston apartment complex say they experience regularly and now they're taking action. [The Journal's Wheeler Cowperthwaite reports that tenants at 1890 Broad St. in Cranston say they are forming a union to bargain with Elmwood Realty amid dangerous conditions.]( • A federal judge shaved about 4 ½ years off the sentence of one of the defendants in the infamous carjacking murder of a young couple in 2000 that captured Rhode Island's attention. The murders of Amy Shute and Jason Burgeson, along with the way they were killed, had the state on edge.
