[@Will_Richmond]( Good morning, I'm Will Richmond at [The Providence Journal]( and this is the Daily Briefing. They sound like something my kids would need to collect in a video game, but in reality Rhode Island's battle flags are a significant piece of the state's history. Like a video game, you might have to go on a mission to find them. The 80 flags that soldiers have carried into battle from the Revolutionary War up to World War I are currently in storage in Massachusetts. The facility has been their home for the past seven years following concerns of deterioration. To bring them back home, however, isn't so simple. [Flags At State House 05 Jpg] Historic battle flags at the State House from the Civil War, Spanish-American War, and WWI were replaced by large prints of the flags, show in this 2018 file photo. [The Providence Journal/Sandor Bodo] Sandor Bodo/Providence Journal [The Journal's Patrick Anderson reports on why legislation is currently in the House of Representatives that would potentially make it easier to bring the flags home and where they could end up.]( • You don't often hear about restraining orders being sought against the police, but that's the case for The Mega-Plex in Providence. A city attorney, however, says such a move would be unprecedented. [The Journal's Katie Mulvaney looks at why police want to maintain patrols in the area as Mega-Plex officials push back.]( • Contractors and vendors at the JLC Live Residential Construction Show in Providence this past weekend said that as housing prices climb, homeowners are trimming their renovation budgets. Now it's causing a lot of chaos in the industry. [The Journal's Wheeler Cowperthwaite talked with contractors are rising costs and the problems they're facing.]( • The spring sports season is about to start and if you blink you might miss some of these high school track and field athletes.
