[] [View in browser]( [View in browser]( [] OCT 30, 2023 [] [] GUY COHEN’S TRADE RADAR “It's always darkest before the dawn…” Last week’s guidance was bearish and the market responded again. That makes it 48 of 55 winnable commentaries from these videos, which has to be among the best services anywhere. I’ll also say this again: we can’t always have strong convictions as to market direction. But when we do it’s going to be for solid reasons. This coming week I would expect a slow-down at some point. If not around this level, then at 4000-4050 for the S&P (400-405 for the SPY). Remember what I said last week: “If earnings are weak among the big giants, a continued downdraft followed by a retracement and waterfall is a likely scenario.“ Well, the continued downdraft did happen, and the next phase is the retracement and possible waterfall thereafter. Again, be super fussy and be happy to be patient. Trading mistakes often come through a lack of patience. Recently, I stumbled upon a news story highlighting a trend where more Americans over 75 are actively part of the workforce than ever before. Initially, I braced myself for a tale of financial struggle pushing our seniors to continue working. But to my surprise, the narrative was quite the opposite. Many of these seasoned individuals are not clocking in extra hours out of necessity, but out of love for their profession. Among others, the article highlighted an older man in his late 70s who was a rare book dealer, and had been so since he was 18 years old. He couldn't imagine a world in which retirement worked for him. The article also highlighted some musical acts from the 1960s and 70s who are still on the road today, including Earth, Wind and Fire. While this narrative makes for a great feel-good story, let's not let it overshadow the grim reality that many seniors face. There's a significant portion of older Americans clinging to their jobs not out of choice, but out of sheer financial need It's disheartening to learn about seniors having to juggle between jobs like Uber driving, cleaning, or babysitting to keep the lights on. Their golden years, instead of being a period of relaxation and enjoyment, are overshadowed by financial worries. But This dilemma doesn't just plague our seniors; it casts a long shadow over the younger generation too. Many are already foreseeing a future where retirement remains an elusive dream. The worry of being caught in a perpetual work cycle is real, and the anxiety it breeds is very real. About 1 in 5 Americans believe they'll never retire, primarily attributing this bleak outlook to financial constraints. The stark contrast between the seniors who work because they love to and those who work because they have to, brings a crucial aspect of financial planning into the spotlight. It underscores the importance of a robust, reliable income strategy that can weather the storms of economic uncertainties and does not require punching a timeclock. I recently recorded a discussion where I unveil a tweaked version of my undefeated income strategy. I’ve now optimized it to target 3X the income, making it an appealing avenue for those looking to grow small accounts. It's about planting the seeds of financial security today, to reap the benefits in the years to come. If this catches your interest, [click here to watch the discussion]( and arm yourself with knowledge that could potentially change your financial trajectory.
