As long as the thing you’re buying “on sale” actually has a “fair value” that’s what you think it is. Or as long as you trade Meme Stocks that are way below their 800-day simple moving average (aka “fair value”). Back in April 2024, the infamous GameStop (GME) was down close to its lower Band. It wasn’t all the way to the Band but the price at that time was more than 100% below “fair value”. The April price was around $10.15 while the SMA was up at $29.25. Here’s the chart: [] Of course, you know what happened. Not only did it explode up to “fair value” at $29.25 (for about a 190% gain), it went as high as $64.
