At that time, the scan only came back with three names. One of those was Poet Technologies (POET), and at that time it was only trading at $0.94. Is it a good idea to trade stocks that are under $1? Probably not. But I started tracking and trading it. Why? Because its “fair value” was way up around $5.50. So, how has it done? As I write this, POET is trading at $2.10. It has been as high as $3.40. Yikes. Here’s the chart: It would be fine to exit now with over a 100% win (if I or anyone was currently in that position from $0.94) It’s done its job. Does it have more upside? Maybe. The moving average is still far above current price. But the big takeaway is that monster winners can come from beaten-down places. POET has shown us that.
