He attended Dunedin High School and worked his way through Yale University, where he was the captain of the varsity baseball team. He also graduated with honors from Harvard Law School, where he earned a commission in the U.S. Navy as a JAG officer. During his active-duty service, Ron deployed to Iraq in support of the SEAL mission in Fallujah, Ramadi and the rest of Al Anbar province. In 2018, Ron DeSantis was elected the 46th Governor of Florida. As governor, he has fought for what’s right and taken the arrows for the people he represents. Conventional wisdom assumed this was impossible for a Republican – as recently as 2016, Hillary Clinton won Miami-Dade County by nearly 30 points. Governor DeSantis flipped several other blue counties red, including Palm Beach County. He won 62 out of 67 counties overall. Compared to his first statewide election in 2018, Governor DeSantis was up +19% with Independents, up +30% with Hispanics, and up +9% with women.
