Over what? Over a case so flimsy the District Court of Philadelphia already had thrown it out. Over an incident in which Mark was defending his 12-year-old son when an abortion clinic “escort” verbally abused and repeatedly violated his personal space. And despite the fact that Mark offered to appear voluntarily (an important detail which I’ll come back to in a minute). Make no mistake, this is the political weaponization of the FBI. Make no mistake, this is retaliation for the overturning of Roe v. Wade (sidewalk counselors, crisis pregnancy centers, and even churches are now targets of the radical pro-abortion movement). And make no mistake, this is an assault on all pro-life Americans. Mark is being charged under the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act – a law that dates back to Bill Clinton’s pro-abortion presidency. If convicted, he faces 11 years in prison and up to $350,000 in fines. Immediately upon hearing of the early morning raid and arrest, the Thomas More Society swung into action. Peter Breen (our vice president and general counsel) flew to Philadelphia for Mark’s arraignment. Needless to say, Mark pled “NOT GUILTY!” to these sham charges.
