{NAME} -- Most Americans recognize the January 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol for what it was -- a shameful, anti-American stain on our history. Unfortunately, the radical right in this country disagrees, and now some of those who participated in this riot are using it to launch their own political careers. Candidates for statehouses in Virginia, West Virginia, and Michigan are running as loyal pro-Trump Republicans and using the insurrection to demonstrate their right-wing credentials. One of the rioters is even a candidate for governor in Nebraska. If they're elected, they will have actual platforms to spout conspiracy theories and racist ideology. They're threatening to shake the very foundations of our democracy by passing legislation to weaken our elections and further entrench conservative rule in the US. They aren't hiding these goals either -- this is the Trump agenda, and their only interest is seeing it passed into law. This group of potential lawmakers is beyond dangerous. We've pulled off tough victories before, and we need to take these campaigns seriously today to prevent them from gaining a foothold in our political system. [In 2022, we're doing the work to elect progressive Democrats who will uphold the rule of law and work to better the lives of the American people. We're only $287 short of our fundraising goal, and every dollar counts in the fight against Trump's fascist supporters.
