Hi {NAME} -- Black activists and community groups in Georgia fought hard to turn out voters last election, pulling off a monumental feat and unseating two Republican incumbents in the Senate. But the state's Republicans took notice -- and they're taking aim at one of the most effective strategies to get voters to the polls. Under a new bill proposed by the chair of the GOP's new sham “Special Committee on Election Integrity,” all early voting on Sundays would be eliminated, making it impossible for Georgia's Black churches to implement their popular “souls to the polls” get-out-the-vote initiative. Democrats are calling this out for what it is -- a naked attempt to suppress voters of color and get Republicans back on top in a state they have long taken for granted. “I know when you cut back on the early voting, it disproportionately affects and harms voters of color who have the highest rate of weekend voting,” said Democratic state Rep. Calvin Smyre. And {NAME}, this is just the first shot across the bow -- not only in Georgia, but in swing states all across the country. The GOP is determined to take back control by any means necessary, no matter how egregious their actions have to be. And if Republicans try and rig the 2022 elections to take back the House, they could wreak untold havoc in Washington. Lindsey Graham is already threatening to impeach Kamala Harris -- who knows what else they're willing to do. We have one shot to defend our majority from everything the Republicans will throw at us. We can do it, too -- we overcame their sabotage in 2018 to take back the House and right there in Georgia last year to take back the Senate. Now, it's our time to come together stronger than ever before. But while the GOP is busy slashing voting rights, we're struggling to raise the funds we need to get moving for next year. We're currently $3,900 short of our goal this month -- and we desperately need your support to make up the difference. [Please, chip in and help us fight back and stop the Republican Party from rigging next year's elections. We CAN defend our majority and keep them from taking control, but we urgently need your help to do it.]( If you've saved payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately: [DONATE $10]( [DONATE $25]( [DONATE $50]( [DONATE $100]( [DONATE $500]( [DONATE OTHER]( Thank you so much, Progressive Majority [CONTRIBUTE]( Progressive Majority PAC is leading the fight against Trump's GOP and their dangerous and divisive agenda by supporting elected progressives, helping elect even more progressive Democrats to Congress, and protecting the gains we made in the past election.
