Hi {NAME} -- The Washington Post: ?A federal judge dismissed Michael Flynn?s prosecution ? aft

Hi {NAME} -- The Washington Post: “A federal judge dismissed Michael Flynn’s prosecution … after President Trump’s pardon, but said the act of clemency does not mean the former national security adviser is innocent of lying to FBI agents about his talks with the Russian government before Trump took office.” While it’s vindicating to hear Judge Sullivan call it like it is, the fact remains that Flynn is reaping the benefits of Trump’s presidential pardon, just as he’s benefitted from Attorney General Barr’s protection for so many years. Sullivan’s assessment of Flynn’s case speaks to Trump’s immense abuses of power and the extent to which he’s had our legal system wrapped around his finger for the past four years. According to WaPo, the judge “expressed deep skepticism about the Justice Department’s stated reasons for abandoning [Flynn’s] case, criticizing it for applying a different set of rules to Flynn.” Flynn may have gotten away with his crimes without consequence, but that doesn’t mean all of Trump’s cronies should get to. We at Progressive Majority believe that the criminals of the Trump administration should face consequences for their actions -- the president himself included. We’re working tirelessly to hold Trump and his allies accountable. But with the election in our rearview mirrors, Americans have turned their attention elsewhere, and we’re running low on the funds we need. [We know you’re as angered by Trump’s abuses of power as we are. That’s why we’re reaching out to you today.
