Hi {NAME} -- Republicans are now suing to keep mail-in ballots out of the hands of registered voters

Hi {NAME} -- Republicans are now suing to keep mail-in ballots out of the hands of registered voters. Specifically, they’ve called California Governor Gavin Newsom’s order to provide every registered California voter with a mail-in ballot a “brazen power grab” that the GOP claims “invites fraud, coercion, theft, and otherwise illegitimate voting” -- based on zero evidence. Meanwhile, the conservative Texas Supreme Court has ruled that vote-by-mail will not be extended to voters concerned about the pandemic. Republicans can pretend like they’re acting on behalf of the general public -- but almost two-thirds of Americans say everyone in their state should be able to vote by mail. This blatant attempt to keep voters from exercising their rights seems to be working -- which may be why most voters have said they think Donald Trump will win the election this year despite his massive unpopularity. The good news is that Democrats are fighting back. Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker just signed an extension for vote-by-mail. He also committed to sending mail ballot applications to voters and made Election Day a state holiday. But we know the GOP will stop at nothing to match every step forward with another step back. That’s why we need you. [If you believe that Trump shouldn't get to disparage vote-by-mail for Americans while using it himself -- if you refuse to surrender your right to vote safely and securely this November -- and if you condemn the GOP's blatant voter suppression tactics and escalating attacks on democracy -- then we need you to add your name to the tens of thousands of engaged Democrats across the country who are standing up to fight to protect vote-by-mail.]( Thank YOU for being part of the fight, Progressive Majority [Sign the Petition]( Progressive Majority PAC is leading the fight against Trump's dangerous and divisive agenda by helping elect progressive Democrats to Congress and protecting the gains we made in the midterms. This movement is powered by progressives like you. Progressive Majority PAC 410 1st St, SE Suite 310 Washington, DC 20003 Paid for by Progressive Majority PAC [Unsubscribe](
