The movie represented the first-ever direct-to-consumer viewing platform leveraging NFT technology... [Image] Few actors can claim a career as diverse and lengthy as Sir Anthony Hopkins, the actor who brought Hannibal Lecter to life in Silence of the Lambs. In 1993, Queen Elizabeth II knighted him for his service to drama. In 2021 he starred in the world’s first NFT feature film brought to life by Vuele, a partnership between MetaWorks (OTC: MWRK) and Enderby Entertainment. The movie represented the first-ever direct-to-consumer viewing platform leveraging NFT technology. Yet that only scratches the surface of what MetaWorks is capable of. As for the trading characteristics, this OTC stock is publicly traded in Canada. And while the float isn’t small, the stock has a history of some serious price action. MetaWorks (OTC: MWRK) - 1-month trading range: $0.0660 - $0.1793 - Typical average daily volume: 288,000 - Float: ~ 80 Million MetaWorks’ Business A jack of all trades, MetaWorks considers itself a pioneering organization that's bridging the gap between blockchain, Web3 platforms, and the realms of entertainment and technology. It aims to embolden brands, enabling them to conceive and monetize extraordinary digital experiences using decentralized technologies and marrying it with the assurance of regulatory compliance. A few of their more notable platforms include: - MusicFX - This isn't merely an NFT platform; it's a conduit for strengthening the relationship between fans and artists. It utilizes blockchain technology to reciprocate the support of fans with unforgettable experiences. - VUELE - As I introduced earlier, this is their direct-to-consumer viewing platform revolutionizing film distribution. Thanks to NFT technology, it's an avenue for international films, streaming of feature-length movies, and a treasury for digital film memorabilia. - MotoCLUB - A one-stop destination for automotive aficionados, this platform is a marketplace for creating and trading collectible NFTs based on premier vehicles and memorabilia. In collaboration with Barrett-Jackson, the world leader in collector car auctions, MotoCLUB is in pole position. - BitRail - Shifting gears (pun intended) BitRail is their blockchain platform that equips e-commerce providers with the capability to handle regulatory-compliant cryptocurrencies for payments, ensuring alignment with state money transmitter laws and FinCEN. - FreedomCOIN - Last up is the company’s token, custom-built for BitRail, which enables affordable, instant, and secure payments and money transfers. Initially developed for GunBroker, the bustling marketplace for outdoor sports and firearm products, FreedomCOIN is versatility exemplified. You can see how these and their other platforms fit into the metaverse economy: [1685974603--vpysz6.png] [Source: MetaWorks Investor Relations]( Financials [1685974603--b5ji1s.png] [Source: SEC Filings]( 2022 was a banner year for the company with the release of its new film. By itself, the movie revenues brought in $1.25 million, a huge increase over the prior year. In fact, if you subtract service costs, it made a profit on its bold venture, which is a pretty big deal. Outside of that, the company doesn’t generate much in terms of revenues. You can see below that the most recent quarterly activity fell far short of their glorious first quarter in 2022. [1685974603--c06ev3.png] [Source: SEC Filings]( Unfortunately, even in its best quarters, the company hasn’t generated positive cash flow from operations. In fact, it’s burning around $325K to $425K each quarter. That’s a problem when they only have $300,000 in cash on their balance sheets. However, it holds a receivable note of ~$2.8 million on its balance sheet, which, if liquid, would provide enough funding to hold them over for quite a whale. Promoter Activity The first promoter email hit my inbox way back on May 19, for which the promoter was compensated $7,500. Then I was hit with a more recent campaign at the end of May and beginning of June from a second marketer who received $20,000 for their work. The latest is still ongoing, for which the company received $20,000. Because of the company’s complexity, each promoter spent about 80% of their emails explaining who MetaWorks was and what they did. Then they spent a lot of effort hyping up the NFT and Metaverse market growth and size. Unsurprisingly, there weren’t many recent developments they could point to. The few they did bring up include: - May 23, 2023 - Partnership with leading blockchain security protocol provider MetaKeep to integrate its multi-patented technology into the innovative Web3 Wallet product WalletFX. - May 19, 2023 - Their flagship NFT film will be distributed in all 17 countries the film was produced. - May 16, 2023 - The launch of its Blockchain-based NFT event ticketing system and decentralized wallet product, WalletFX, at the Breathe Convention in Las Vegas from September 13 to September 15, 2023. None of these ‘scream’ trading catalysts. But in the NFT space, it doesn’t take much to get a stock moving. Straight to the Facts While many NFTs and blockchain companies are a lot of hype, this one is revolutionary in its approach to entertainment and the whole metaverse ecosystem. There’s a lot of promoter activity around this stock lately, which makes me think there is some announcement coming up in the new few weeks or months. So, keep this one on your watchlist and set up alerts for any news from the company. Always at your service, Baron Von Stocks Disclosure: I am not a fin-an-cial adviser.
