American Poll - Judge Chutkan Rejects Offers for Information in Trump Case -- FREEDOM POLLS -- Â 3D

American Poll - Judge Chutkan Rejects Offers for Information in Trump Case -- FREEDOM POLLS --  3D%3D%3D  66% of Voters Do Not Want Biden To Run Again In 2024, Do You? [Yes, I Do](  [No, I Do Not](   3D%3D%3D  Today in America On Tuesday, U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan dismissed six motions associated with the federal lawsuit involving ex-President Donald Trump's actions related to the 2020 election and the events of January 6, 2021, at the Capitol. These motions appeared in the court's records just a day after Judge Chutkan scheduled a trial for March 4, 2024. This date is notably a day prior to the "Super Tuesday" primaries across 15 states and one territory, as Trump vies for another term in the presidency. The process of selecting a grand jury is set to commence for this trial, which both the Department of Justice and special counsel Jack Smith initially aimed to fast-track. In response to the chosen date, Trump and his campaign criticized Judge Chutkan, arguing it denies him a just trial and suggesting it's another chapter in the ongoing "witch hunts"—a term he has used in relation to all the four charges against him where he has professed his innocence. A tense interaction occurred between Trump's lawyer, John Lauro, who was pushing for a 2026 trial, and Judge Chutkan. Lauro labeled the 2024 trial date as "ridiculous," resulting in Chutkan correcting his demeanor on several occasions. The specifics of the submitted documents weren't revealed, but the court released a statement saying: "In select cases, courts might allow third-party inputs in criminal matters. However, neither the Federal Criminal Procedure Rules nor the Local Rules foresee the submission of amicus curiae briefs. Currently, the court sees no reason to deviate from standard practices by approving this submission." You are subscribed to this email as {EMAIL}.
