Not even his own party would save him. [Pramila Jayapal] Republicans are in complete ruin. Their caucus of chaos has tried to impose their cruelty on working families across the country, and now â for the first time in U.S. history â they are without a leader. Pramila was unequivocal in her vote against Kevin McCarthy.He broke his promises to President Biden, supports draconian abortion bans, and would never get her vote for Speaker. Time and again, Kevin McCarthy has shown himself to be unfit to lead. He has upheld some of the most extreme, violent, and unconstitutional leaders in his party, and not even they could save him. And now his time is up. Now, Republicans are putting forward their nominees for the next speaker, and they are just as bad. The list includes proud MAGA supporters Jim Jordan and Steve Scalise, just to name a few. Trump's goons have created a dangerous dynamic in our democracy. That means we need to do everything in our power to continue protecting the values, vision, and progress our movement has fought for for so long. No matter what the GOP is planning to throw our way, we need to make sure our progressive movement is strong and united against their chaos.
