Grab a Spoon. Or a Straw?
Getting serious about cereal
When it comes to cooking at home, even the most inexperienced of cooks can whip up a decent bowl of cereal. And as it turns out, that might be your favorite thing to make. The stats donât lie: [Cereal sales are up almost 12%]( since the beginning of the year. Guess all that extra time at home means more opportunities to pour a bowl of your signature dish.
But real cereal-heads have a lot more to be excited about than just tiny marshmallows. [Dunkinâ]( is launching a [new cereal brand]( which means soon you can enjoy Caramel Macchiato and Mocha Latte by the spoonful.
And in Chicago, a new âcereal barâ named [Munchiez]( just opened up so you can combine all your favorite flavors and mix them around in the milk of your choice. But the real stars of the menu are the milkshakes that come loaded with your favorite cereals, like the Puff Daddyâit comes with Cocoa Puffs, Frosted Flakes, Oreos, and chocolate ice cream.
Cereal you can sip on and coffee you can bite into. The foods, they are a-changinâ.
Slurp Away
Noodles are always in season
Noodle soup is steamy, full of textures, and super flavorful. And yet, when the summer months come around, this classic dish doesnât get the respect it deserves. So you might sweat a bit more as you slurp. Whatâs the harm?
We love a good bowl of ramen on a hot day. The subtle richness of the broth leaves classic summer foods like hot dogs in the dust. Plus the heat from the bowl just begs to be paired with a cold beer. So grab a spoon and some chopsticksâitâs noodle season.
Our favorite? A big bowl of Soul Ramen from [Tatsu Ramen]( in New York. Itâs full of noodles, ground beef, and kikurage mushrooms. But the best part is the pork broth that takes 28 hours to prepare. The umami flavors that come through are exactly what youâre not getting from another salad or burrito. Good news too, because thereâs always room for soup.
