As most of those ceremonies have been canceled this year, remember this solemn day by putting on your Class As and visiting the grave of a fallen officer near you. Tell them they are not forgotten and thank them for their sacrifice. Take a moment to recall your close calls and recommit yourself to your own personal survival. With that done, go home and hug your family as sincerely as you have ever hugged them before and tell them you love and appreciate them more than words could say. As the day ends, think about what you did on this Peace Officers Memorial Day and resolve that even when the ceremonies are in person again next year and beyond, you will repeat this COVID-commemoration.
