Amazon has [decided to close its fitness device division](, Halo, and discontinue all Amazon Halo products. Why does it matter? It launched its first fitness band in 2020 and followed that up with a new model - the Halo View - the following year. A Halo Rise wellness lamp was also added to the line in 2022. All three have been withdrawn from Amazon's US retail site. Support will end on 31 July 2023. What's my take? Amazon's Halo fitness subscription plan and products never made it over to the UK and now we know why - they didn't quite reach their potential. The sad news is that those who bought a Halo Band, Halo View and/or a Halo Rise will soon end up with bricked devices, as support for them will end on 31 July. The better news is that Amazon will fully refund anyone who did so in the last 12 months. Any prepaid Halo Fitness subscriptions will also be returned. Amazon puts the closure down to an overly competitive market - which was pretty obvious even when the first Halo Band was released in 2020. And now that we're all getting out and about more in a post-pandemic world, we guess that the lockdown fitness bubble has burst somewhat too.  Amazfit T-Rex 2 review: Rough and ready POCKET-LINT What's happened?
