[Facebook]([Twitter]([Instagram]( [Website](  E3 2023's cancellation could spell the end for the show entirely ESA What's happened? E3 2023 will not be going ahead. The [world's biggest gaming show has been cancelled](. Why does it matter? Although plans for an E3 were at a late stage, several major games publishers announced they were pulling out - some entirely, others to put on their own showcase events elsewhere. This lead to organisers, the ESA and ReedPop, pulling the plug on this year's event. What's my take? Sadly, this seems to be the end of the road for E3 - at least in its current form. It had already lost PlayStation, Electronic Arts and Activision prior to the pandemic, then Xbox, Nintendo, Ubisoft, Sega and Tencent announced they'll not attend this year's show neither. That left plans untenable. And, with all things considered, it's now hard to see the show coming back next year or beyond. Even the head of the Entertainment Software Association (ESA) has admitted that publishers have altered the way they market their games in the last few years - many to an online-only strategy. It's something we're seeing in other tech areas too, with Samsung and others preferring to host separate, self-run events away from the likes of Mobile World Congress and IFA. It might be that, in the near(ish) future, E3 won't be the only casualty when it comes to physical trade and public shows. Sad times.  Lenovo confirms its Legion gaming phones are gone for good POCKET-LINT What's happened? Lenovo has [cancelled its gaming phone business](. Why does it matter? That means that there will be no more Legion phones, which is a shame for people who like their mobiles to be all about the games What's my take? It seems strange that Lenovo - which also runs the Motorola brand - has ditched its gaming phone line at a time when that sector of the market is on the up, but maybe it's struggled to compete with the likes of Asus ROG and Nubia's RedMagic series. Or perhaps it's that the general mobile market is now focusing on gaming too, with flagship handsets, such as the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, being as capable at playing games as any dedicated device. Either way, Lenovo will concentrate on laptops instead. Which it's rather good at.  MG4 EV review: Top value all-electric motoring POCKET-LINT What's happened? If you're looking for an affordable entry point into the world of electric cars there's not currently much in the way of choice. There's plenty that'll cost an arm and a leg, but in terms of value, it's hard to knock the growing portfolio of EVs from MG Motor. The Chinese brand that now owns the iconic British badge has already given us the standard-fare MG ZS EV and the similarly sensible MG5 EV estate to beef up its all-electric range. Now though, there's the MG4 EV, which is an altogether more interesting proposition. Our quick verdict MG Motor has done an excellent job with the MG 4 EV by offering distinctive exterior styling mixed with a comfy, practical interior. More surprisingly, this car has to be one of the zingiest all-electric offerings currently on the market, offering a dynamic driving experience that combines perky performance with very agile handling, and all at a great price too.
