[Facebook]([Twitter]([Instagram]( [Website](  Sony WF-1000XM5 design reportedly shown on FCC listing, announcement imminent? THE WALKMAN BLOG What's happened? Sony is likely to unleash a successor to its 2021 WF-1000XM4 in-ear headphones soon, if a listing discovered on the FCC website is any guide. Why does it matter? The Federal Communications Commission needs to approve any wireless device for use in the US before sale and a listing generally indicates that a product is imminent. That's exciting news for fans of Sony's earbuds for sure, as an alleged pair that are [thought to be the WF-1000XM5 buds]( have been spotted. What's my take? Sony has regularly set the stall with each generation of its flagship ANC TWS in-ears, even though rivals have caught up in the performance and noise cancelling stakes in recent times. That's why there are eyes on its next addition, which look (from this leak) to be smaller and moderately more comfortable. In all honesty, I'm not entirely sure how the company can best the XM4s, which I tested in the summer of 2021. I found them comfortable enough already - certainly enough for long periods of use. But, if they can be made even more compact without impacting the audio or ANC quality, then I can already seeing the XM5 earbuds being equally as well received.  Google has killed off its Glass AR glasses all over again POCKET-LINT What's happened? Google has [discontinued its Glass AR glasses all over again](. This time, it cancelled the Glass Enterprise Edition, a product that was unsurprisingly aimed squarely at enterprise customers and used by people in vertical jobs that required hands-free connectivity. Why does it matter? Google has updated its webpages to say that Glass Enterprise Edition have been discontinued as of 15 March 2023, adding that the company will continue to support the headset through 15 September 2023. However, no new software updates are expected. What's my take? Just as Apple readies its first AR/VR offering, Google seems ready to wave the white flag on its efforts. Google Glass might not have succeeded in any major fashion, but it must be applauded for effectively starting the ball rolling - at least when it comes to the big tech brands. It should therefore be remembered when we're all walking around in the future, glaring at the head-up display in our field of vision. Even if it made you look like a bit of a plonker.  Samsung Galaxy A54 5G initial review: Flagship looks, mid-range price POCKET-LINT What's happened? The Samsung Galaxy A series has been popular with customers, giving access to all those Samsung features, while avoiding the sort of prices that come with the flagship Galaxy S. And, the 2023 Samsung Galaxy A54 5G is closer to the top-tier Galaxy S23 models than we've previously seen. So what does this phone have to offer? Our quick verdict The Samsung Galaxy A54 has a design that matches the Galaxy S23+, giving appeal to this mid-range phone. But, the real appeal is in hitting a range of essential features: it's waterproof, there's a good main camera, a great display and likely enough power and battery so it doesn't feel compromised.
