[Facebook]([Twitter]([Instagram]( [Website](  The external display size race is hotting up - and flip phones will be all the better for it THE TECH OUTLOOK What's happened? A series of leaks point to future flip-style foldable phones having enlarged front displays to make them more useful. Why does it matter? [Leaked Motorola renders]( show a much larger display and we're expecting Samsung to follow suit. What's my take? When Oppo launched the Find N2 Flip, one of the big differences was the larger external display. Motorola's previous device did have a pretty big display, but it looks like things are moving up a gear. Currently, these displays aren't that useful - you might be able to use one to preview selfies, or to view status or clock information, but there are limitations. There's potential that comes with size though, including more functionality, more useful widgets, controls perhaps for things like payments or your smart home. We get the feeling that Samsung is going to have to fill the entire front of the phone to stay in the game - [and that's what's being suggested it will do](.  Microsoft confirms deals with Nintendo, Nvidia to support Switch and GeForce Now for a decade POCKET-LINT What's happened? Microsoft has signed not one, but two 10-year deals that will see its [games remain available on other platforms]( and even add some more to the mix. Why does it matter? With Microsoft trying desperately to get its Activision Blizzard deal over the line amid mounting pushback from international antitrust regulators, the company is hoping its pair of decade-long deals will help assuage fears. What's my take? The acquisition of Activision Blizzard rumbles on, and Microsoft's latest move is to make some pretty big assurances. The first is to guarantee that Call of Duty will be available to Nintendo gamers on the same day as Xbox - for the next 10 years. Even beyond the Switch and onto the next big console from the Japanese gaming giant. The second is an agreement with Nvidia to put Xbox games, including Call of Duty, on its cloud gaming service, GeForce Now - again for 10 years. This demonstrates that Xbox is willing to provide access to big titles, rather than everything becoming an Xbox exclusive, as has been argued. Despite these assurances, we're still no closer to knowing whether this acquisition will ever be approved by regulators in the US, UK and Europe.  Company of Heroes 3 review: War is hell, but supremely playable RELIC ENTERTAINMENT What's happened? The real-time strategy (RTS) game genre has experienced an extraordinary rollercoaster-like trajectory. In the late 1990s and early 2000s, RTS games were very much part of the gaming mainstream, and routinely sold millions of units. Then they seemed to vanish without trace, but have recently begun to chisel out a comeback. The arrival of Company of Heroes 3 marks the point at which that comeback can be seen as official. Our quick verdict Bringing back the once seemingly moribund RTS in spectacular style, Company of Heroes 3 is intense, tactical, authentic, meaty and innovative - just not for the faint-hearted or those seeking instant gratification. That's a 36% price cut for the self-emptying and self-charging device, for both carpet and hard floors.  From The Gear Loop THE GEAR LOOP The sixth iteration of Salomon’s classic Speedcross is lighter, grippier and fiercer than ever, almost perfection for the fells and mountains.
