With the PlayStation VR2 now just a few weeks away from going on sale, [Sony has officially confirmed]( that there will be more than 30 games available to play within the launch period. Why does it matter? PlayStation counts anything that will ship through March as being released within the headset's launch window. That means that some of the titles won't make a day-one release, but at least we know that they're on the way. What's my take? As our editor (and regular newsletter scribe) Chris Hall said a week or so ago, the success of the PlayStation VR2 will entirely depend on the software. And, I have to admit, I was previously worried about this myself - not least because games for the first-gen PSVR will not be compatible with its replacement. So, if you have already accumulated a pile of titles for the PS4 headset, you will not be able to use them with the PS5 equivalent. That's a bit worrying, in my book. Perhaps that's why Sony is keen to ensure that early adopters of the PSVR2 are well-served at launch, with all-new games and a few remastered classics. There should be plenty of choice of VR fare in its first month, although you'll likely need deep pockets considering the headset itself has already cost you over $500 / £500.  Philips Hue smart lighting prices set to rise next month PHILIPS HUE / SIGNIFY What's happened? Signify is set to [raise the prices]( of many of its Philips Hue smart lighting products in February, according to a new report. The price rises could be up to 17 per cent on certain products and will allegedly affect consumers in Europe. Why does it matter? From the beginning of next month, Philips Hue ceiling lights, pendant lights, and outdoor lighting will be the hardest hit. A spokesperson told 9to5Mac that the new pricing structure is needed to combat wild currency fluctuations in Europe - something many tech firms are having to do at this current time, with devices now appearing to be much more expensive in the UK and Central Europe than, say, the US. What's my take? Sadly, this is happening across the board, with Europeans now paying a lot more for many tech products than their American counterparts. Take Apple's newly-launched 14-inch MacBook Pro, for example - it starts at $1,999 in the States (around £1,615 at today's exchange rate), but the exact same model is £2,149 in the UK. In that respect, the move by Signify is only to be expected. At least it decided to focus on price rises for specific Philips Hue ranges rather than its entire product lineup - keeping its everyday bulbs at the same price they've been for a while. My advice is that if you are looking to add Hue lighting to your home, don't put it off if you can afford it in the next week and a bit. Otherwise, you might find you need to stretch your budget a little further.  EA Sports PGA Tour initial review: Hands-off with EA's golfing return ELECTRONIC ARTS What's happened? EA is about to return to the fairway with a new addition to its long-standing golf game franchise. And, it's looking like it'll carry on exactly where it left off eight years ago, albeit with a fair few modern bells and whistles thrown in for good measure. We've been privy to a hands-off demo of the game and a walkthrough of its features by some of the developers. Our quick verdict With 30 courses planned for launch and all the major tournaments, including the Masters at Augusta, EA Sports PGA Tour is shaping up to be a thorough title for enthusiasts and casual gamers alike. From what we've seen so far, it's also looking superb thanks to the adoption of the Frostbite Engine. We can't wait to get our own hands on it soon to see if it's up to par.
